Production Process of Flaxseed Oil

The production process of linseed oil mainly includes pressing method and special solvent extraction method.

The pressing method involves applying pressure to the raw material to extract the oil from the oilseeds.

The main advantage of this technology is that it does not require the use of chemical solvents and can produce a more natural product.

All polyunsaturated fatty acids, proteins, food fiber, vitamins, trace elements and other useful substances are stored in flaxseed oil.

1. Oil Pressing method:

Oil screening: The harvest of flax seed is cleaned, and the raw material is screened with a vibrating screen to remove the debris, so that the impurity rate is less than 0.5%. This step is to ensure the smooth progress of the subsequent pressing process and the quality of the oil.

Roasting (hot pressing required) : If the hot pressing method is used, the flaxseed should be baked and fried, and the temperature and moisture of the pan should be strictly controlled.

Roasting can improve the oil yield and make the extracted oil have a stronger flavor, but it may also destroy some nutrients to a certain extent.

Pressing: The pre-treated flaxseed is directly pressed into the oil press.

According to the demand can choose cold pressing or hot pressing, cold pressing is at low temperature, the use of physical and mechanical huge pressure to extract vegetable oil, can retain more nutrients; Hot pressing is to press after high temperature roasting or steaming, and the oil yield is relatively high.

Filtration: The flaxseed oil after pressing needs to be precipitated or filtered to separate the impurities that are not separated during pressing to improve the purity of the oil.

2. Oil Leaching method:

Leaching extraction: The solvent oil is used to soak the pre-treated linseed raw materials, and then the high temperature extraction is carried out to extract the oil.

This method has a very high oil yield and is a popular processing method in the modern oil industry.

Refining: The extracted flaxseed oil also needs to go through a series of refining processes before it can be eaten.

Including degumming (removal of phospholipids, mucus, resins, etc.), deacidification (removal of free fatty acids, etc.), water washing (removal of soap feet and water-soluble impurities), dehydration (removal of water), decolorization (removal of pigments, etc.), deodorization (removal of odors, etc.), dewaxing or degreasing (removal of wax or solid fat) and other processes.

Finally, the filtered flaxseed oil is filled and the appropriate packaging material is selected, such as glass bottles or food-grade plastic bottles.

After filling flaxseed oil should be stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and high temperature environment to ensure its quality and shelf life.
